Aces of Thunder is a flight simulation game built around aerial combat from the cockpit view, drawing its physically accurate flight and damage models from the military action game War Thunder. Every battle unfolds from inside the aircraft, with fully interactive cockpits that let you control the plane with your own hands.

The hangars hold over twenty carefully recreated aircraft spanning both World Wars. American P-51 Mustangs and P-63 Kingcobras share space with German Bf 109s and Fw 190s, Soviet Il-2s and Yak-9Ts, British Spitfires and Japanese A6M3 Zeros. The collection reaches further back to the Great War, where machines like the Fokker Dr.I, the triplane flown by the Red Baron, and the SPAD S.XIII favoured by René Fonck sit with authentically detailed cockpits and historically accurate weaponry.

Fifteen maps represent the key theatres where the fate of war was decided. Western, Eastern and Pacific Fronts from World War II join signature World War I frontlines, each rendered with high fidelity graphics designed to work both with and without VR headsets. Between missions you can walk around the hangar to examine your aircraft up close.

The fighting pits you against virtual pilots from around the world in multiplayer dogfights, or tests your skills through single player missions. HOTAS controls are fully supported, and native OpenXR integration means a wide range of VR devices can run the game. Put on a headset, grab virtual flight controls or connect your hardware sim rig, and the cockpit becomes yours.
