Arknights: Endfield, the 3D industrial RPG from developer Hypergryph and publisher Gryphline, is getting its first major content update on March 12, 2026. Titled "Old Deep Water Dies, by Rising Tide It is Denied," Version 1.1 arrives as a free download across all platforms, bringing new operators, a fresh story area, an expanded industrial system, and a stack of community-driven improvements to the base experience.
The update follows what Gryphline describes as a launch window that surpassed internal projections. Producer Light Zhong noted that the game's global player count, playtime, and in-game activity levels all greatly exceeded expectations, with Version 1.1 serving as a direct response to the community's rapid engagement. For a free-to-play title that marks the Arknights franchise's first expansion beyond mobile into console and PC, the pace of this first content drop signals intent.
Arknights: Endfield is a real-time strategy RPG set on Talos-II, where players take on the role of the Endministrator of Endfield Industries. The game is built around exploration, real-time combat, and base-building, with squads of up to four Operators combining skills and elemental synergies in the field. The Arknights universe has exceeded 100 million downloads to date, and Endfield introduces a new frontier storyline within that world: one centered on defending and expanding the boundaries of human civilization across an unfamiliar planet.
Version 1.1 adds two new six-star operators, each designed to reshape squad composition in distinct ways. Tangtang is a Caster specializing in area-of-effect Cryo damage and support, her Ultimate, DA CHIEF SEES YOU!, immobilizing all enemies within its range including bosses and creating windows for squads to pile on decisive damage. Rossi is a Guard and currently the only operator capable of converting Arts Infliction on enemies into Vulnerability, a defense break mechanic that positions her as a force multiplier for Physical-focused squads by shredding enemy defenses so primary damage dealers can capitalize.
The industrial side of the game expands through a new hydro-industrialization system. The Hydro Mining Rig lets players mine Cuprium, a new resource, using water flow instead of electricity. Unlike existing facilities, these rigs require no connection to the power grid, automating mineral collection through water alone. New Conduits for long-distance liquid transport and Water Treatment Units for processing sewage round out the logistics additions. The Forges of the Sky, an endgame production facility, sees its placement limit raised to four units, significantly increasing the resource production ceiling.
A new area called Qingbo Stockade opens within the Wuling region, carrying its own story thread. Tensions between the stockade and Wuling City are escalating due to the arrival of Nefarith and Ardashir, and the Endministrator can investigate the situation firsthand. The update also introduces limited-time activities including Exploration Day, which involves farming at Originium Science Park, and Survival Training, a combat challenge that restricts players to Industrial Explosives only.
Player rewards receive substantial additions on top of the 135 free pulls already offered during the launch window. A new beginner support system grants 10 Chartered Headhunting Permits after reaching specific milestones in Chapter 1, with players who already passed those milestones able to claim rewards directly from the event page. Sign-in events titled "Gently Flows Qingbo" and "Pearl of the Pack" offer limited-time permits over seven-day login periods, while the Protocol Pass battle pass now includes periodic acquisition of Basic Headhunting Permits. The AIC Quota system has also been expanded so players receive Quotas for obtaining four, five, and six-star operators for the first time, with retroactive distribution for operators acquired before the update.
Endgame gear optimization gets a new tool in the Valley Multi-Line Engraving Kit, available through the Stock Redistribution system. It allows players to create Essences with three customized stats, providing a path to optimize weapon builds while reducing RNG friction. On the quality-of-life front, Version 1.1 addresses community feedback with sweeping improvements: power line buffer range extends to 20 meters with 100 meters total, and connections no longer snap during dialogue or combat triggers. Controller players can now move facilities via a long-press input. A new minimap feature lets players access the game map while riding ziplines, improving navigation across Qingbo Stockade's vertical terrain. Combat receives its own adjustments: operators now enter Protocol Spaces with maximum HP and Ultimate Energy, and the Red Flash enemy attack telegraphs have been re-tuned for better visibility during chaotic encounters.
Gryphline has already outlined what comes next. Version 1.2 will continue the expansion of Talos-II at a larger scale, with a narrative arc that sees the Endministrator join forces with Tianshi Zhuang to defend the Xiranite Dam against a sudden siege by Ardashir. That future update will introduce two new maps, an outpost, and a new fluid-based production system for the AIC Factory.
