Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes is a tactical roguelite built around hard choices and desperate space combat. You play as a Gunstar Commander leading a fleet of survivors through Cylon-occupied space, answering Admiral Adama's call to rejoin humanity's last hope: the Battlestar Galactica. The Cylons have devastated humankind, and what remains of civilization is scattered across the void, fleeing an enemy that never stops pursuing.
You lead the Wanderers, one of four fleets in the game, commanding from the Gunstar Callisto. This command ship comes armed with Offensive Flak and Nukes to protect the civilian vessels in your convoy, and its reduced repair costs help stretch resources that are already dangerously thin. Managing those resources and your crew is the core of the experience: every decision rests on your shoulders, from navigating in-fleet politics to unmasking Cylons hiding among your own people.
Between Cylon attacks you travel through four sectors, pockets of space where you can breathe long enough to upgrade your fleet, train crew members and explore points of interest. But every action costs turns, and time-sensitive crises keep emerging, forcing you to prioritize knowing the Cylons are inexorably closing in. When they inevitably find you, survival means holding out long enough for your crew to prepare an FTL jump. You deploy squadrons, ready nukes and use tactical pause to plan your attacks while defending your fleet from overwhelming force. The first boss encounter pits you against N°5 The Clerk, and the goal is simply getting out with minimal casualties.
Each run rewards you with Fate, a meta currency spent on unlocking new Gunstar weapons, Hero traits, squadrons and other upgrades that gradually improve your brutal odds. Progress carries forward between runs, shaping a unique journey toward survival each time. This demo's meta progression unlocks and save data will transfer to the main game, letting players continue exactly where they left off.
