Bobo Bay is a pet simulation game set in a cute little town where players collect, breed and raise creatures called Bobos, each one shaped by a sprawling combination of traits. Body colour, eye colour, body part shapes, patterns, sheens, stats and personality all shift with every Bobo found or bred. The breeding system, called mashing, produces thousands of possible combinations, meaning no two creatures look or behave quite the same. Distinct traits and moods change how each Bobo needs to be cared for, turning every new addition into its own small puzzle of attention and upkeep.

Bobos grow through a defined lifecycle, beginning as Saplings, developing into Seedlings based on their stats, then maturing into Buds before finally Sprouting, giving players the chance to trigger an evolution. That growth feeds directly into competition. Trials run on a daily schedule, open to any Bobo, with different events available at night for nocturnal creatures. Relay races add another layer of training. Sagas serve as the main progression path, requiring players to complete all contests in order using the same Bobo. Finishing a Saga unlocks new maps, new Bobo species and special additions to the town. Scattered throughout are legendary opponents called Bobo Stars: defeating one rewards a new Sapling of the same species as the Star itself, while mysterious creatures known as Phantoms lurk as a separate threat.

The town functions as a hub where players buy accessories, register new Bobos, visit the doctor, drop creatures off at camp, purchase snacks or adopt from a shelter. Raising money for Public Works Projects opens new shops, renovates existing ones and adds features to gardens. Something waits in the alley at night. Beyond the town, players can take an electric vessel called the Bayfarer out onto the open ocean to explore a fresh set of randomised islands each day, scavenging rare items, racing time trials and tackling platforming challenges across shores no one has visited before.

Bobo Bay has not yet released and is still in development.
