Carbon is a science fiction top-down action RPG set in a future where humanity has already left Earth behind. A terraforming research accident turned the planet hostile, mutating its natural landscape into something that feeds on energy and consumes the surface. Continents are overrun, and life can no longer survive there. Vast orbital cities now house the evacuated survivors, circling the darkened world they once called home. Corporations hold power, augmentations are routine, and Earth sits below as a reminder of what went wrong.

Character creation in Carbon splits along a fundamental divide: Bio or Tech. Choosing the Tech path means outfitting yourself with Cyberware and Nanoware, while the Bio path draws from Geneware and Chemware. These aren't cosmetic distinctions. Each augmentation type shapes how the game plays, offering asymmetric experiences that alter the feel of combat and progression. Beyond that initial choice, players select a body type and progress through one of eighteen core specializations, each carrying its own passive skill tree. Over a hundred skills can be socketed into a talent tree system that doesn't just empower abilities but can transform them entirely through new skill branches.

Cooperative multiplayer supports up to four additional players working through adventures together, where each person's skill loadout determines their role in the group. The interplay between individual builds and combined effort sits at the center of the shared experience. Carbon is not yet available to play, with no confirmed release date announced.
