Forza Horizon 6 brings the Horizon Festival to Japan, setting its open-world racing across a landscape built on contrasts. Rural valleys give way to dense urban sprawl, mountain roads wind down into coastal docks, and the whole map carries more verticality than any previous entry in the series. Tokyo City stands at the centre of it all, the largest urban area Playground Games has ever constructed for a Horizon game, its suburbs and downtown streets designed as a home for car enthusiasts.

Over 550 real-world cars fill the roster, with particular attention paid to JDM classics that have long held a place in the hearts of the community. Engine audio has been rebuilt, steering animations updated to show up to 540 degrees of wheel rotation, and the driving itself feels tuned to match. Scattered across Japan are Forza Edition cars fitted with extreme modifications and rare Aftermarket Cars waiting to be discovered, test driven and purchased. The car culture here isn't just backdrop, it's woven into the structure of play through Touge Battles and encounters with the Legends of the Horizon Festival, figures rooted in Japan's automotive history.

Your journey begins as a tourist. You'll need to prove yourself worthy of joining the Festival as a rookie driver, completing a Collection Journal as you explore and qualifying through the Horizon Invitational. From there, progression means faster cars, new Wristbands, and eventually the status of Horizon Legend, which grants access to Legend Island, an exclusive space reserved for the greatest drivers. The campaign plays solo or in co-op, and the multiplayer extends further with Time Attack Circuits, Drag Meets, Car Meets, Spec Racing Championships, The Eliminator and Hide & Seek.

Beyond racing, you'll purchase homes across Japan, each with customizable garages where you can display your collection or download layouts shared by the community. The Estate offers something larger, a mountain valley where you can build freely in the open world. CoLab, the upgraded EventLab toolset, now supports multiplayer and lets you create custom events anywhere on the map, sharing them for others to discover.

Forza Horizon 6 releases 18 May 2026, with accessibility options including Granular High Contrast Mode, Car Proximity Radar, sign language support and AutoDrive, making this the most approachable entry in the series yet.
