Mewgenics is a turn-based tactical roguelite set in Boon County, where players breed mutant cats into whiskered armies and send them clawing through adventures in search of food, money and treasure. Created by Edmund McMillen of The Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy alongside Tyler Glaiel of Closure and The End Is Nigh, this is a legacy roguelite built around a daily loop of assembling squads from an ever-growing house, outfitting them with class-specific collars and pushing them into battles that demand careful positioning and wild power combos.

Each day players choose from classes like Fighter, Tank and Mage among many others, each carrying 75 unique abilities. Combat draws from over 1000 abilities total, more than 900 items and countless environmental interactions, throwing fresh tactical puzzles at players every run. Positioning matters, combos matter, and the environment itself becomes part of the fight. The cats that survive and return home carry scars, experience and sometimes extra heads. Their strange skills and mutations pass down through breeding, letting players tinker with bloodlines, tackle genetic quirks and build increasingly powerful and bizarre cats for the next outing. This breeding system is the engine that drives the roguelite forward, where every generation reshapes what's possible.

The scope stretches across a 200 plus hour main campaign with over 200 enemies and bosses, more than 10 character classes and roguelite progression that ensures no two runs play out the same way. Choices accumulate constantly around money, items and genes, and players face agonizing decisions about whether to keep a promising kitten or hand it off to one of the many NPCs who can upgrade the house. Early runs teach the basics, but the layers keep revealing themselves as breeding chains demand optimization and unexpected ability combos emerge from the chaos. Mewgenics builds toward tactical mastery while leaving room for the kind of emergent nonsense that comes from giving mutant cats too much power, and yes, you can pet them.
