One Wee Robot is a 3D action platformer that sends a small robot named Bobby hurtling through time on a mission to retrieve a stolen device called the Chronomodulator. Bobby's creator, the master robotologist Dr. Rusty McBolts, was betrayed during an expedition to uncover one of the Five Pillars of Fabrication. A colleague named Professor Cogsworth pilfered the Chronomodulator and hurled himself through time, so Rusty built Bobby with a single purpose: follow Cogsworth and steal it back.
The chase spans three biomes across fifteen handcrafted levels. Carburettor Cloggers takes Bobby to ancient oil fields filled with treacherous tombs and mechanical ruins, where a now senile Great Prototype called SP-1N-X has left behind riddles and deadly traps. Robotian Ridges leaps into the near future on a distant frontier planet littered with mine carts and train tracks, home to the mischievous Robotian Racketeers and their infamous leader Billy-Bot. Galvanised Glens is a legendary homeland lost to myth, where endless rain, eerie forests and a mighty stronghold guard enemies drawn from long forgotten legends. Five boss fights punctuate the journey as Bobby collects Chronogers to unlock the path forward.
Combat revolves around equipping a different weapon on each arm and mastering creative combos across an arsenal of thirteen unique weapons. These range from the melee Coghammer to the rapid firing Piecesmaker, covering a spread of playstyles that includes a buzzsaw boomerang and a wind slinging scimitar. Fighting with one arm allows Bobby to Overclock the other, unleashing devastating damage from the weapon held in reserve.
Defeating enemies and busting crates earns Scrap, which Bobby spends on permanent upgrades like the slide and double jump. Each level also contains its own set of challenges: hidden Time Fuel that improves durability, Curios earned by beating a level without being destroyed or finishing within a time limit, and Relics tucked inside special bonus stages where Bobby might help a lost robot find missing friends or chase down a mischievous gas wisp. Completing these unlocks unique customisations. Meanwhile Cogsworth's Compendium, a massive archive decrypted in fragments as Bobby hops through the ages, catalogues every enemy encountered along with the Professor's own snarky observations and the lost history of the Five Pillars of Fabrication.
