Panzer Knights is a strategic action game that puts you in command of a tank platoon fighting across World War II's European theatre, from the Battle of France to the Eastern Front. You've been selected for the Panzertruppenschule I, tasked with becoming one of the army's elite tank commanders. War is at hand and the army needs Steel Knights who can lead through some of the conflict's most punishing engagements.
Eleven main levels form the backbone of the campaign, each presenting distinct mission objectives. You'll break through defensive lines, protect critical field positions and hold against swarms of enemies trying to overwhelm your forces. Side missions extend beyond the main operations for those seeking more. Over 20 controllable tanks are available to unlock, ranging from the Panzer 38(t) to the IS-2, each rendered in a distinct art style. Upgrades, new camouflage options and loadout configurations let you tailor your hardware to each mission's demands. Beyond what you command directly, over 40 authentic WWII-era vehicles and artillery populate the battlefields as threats to navigate. Damage modelling means a careless approach can leave your tank stripped of its tracks or riddled with hull breaches.
Crew selection shapes how you fight. Thirty crewmates are available, and you pick five to fill out your team, choosing based on qualities that complement your preferred approach. Their skills improve over time. On the battlefield itself, you call in bomb raids to break apart larger enemy formations, signal resupply airdrops, repair your tank in the field and shift tactics as conditions change. The environments are fully destructible, letting you ram through walls and demolish buildings to reshape your approach. Whether you creep into a sheltered firing position or commit to a long shot across open ground, the terrain and its cover factor into every decision. A separate Skirmish Mode offers annihilation and defense scenarios where you freely choose vehicles for both sides and adjust force strength to create your own engagements.
Panzer Knights rewards both careful planning and brute force improvisation, asking its commanders to read each battlefield and adapt before the next shell finds them.
