Subliminal is a psychological horror puzzle game where light becomes something you can grasp, carry, and bend to reshape the space around you. Set within fragmented memories rendered through Unreal Engine 5, this is a world where illumination isn't just how you see but how you survive.
You'll pull fixtures from ceilings, cast light to open doors, and reveal pathways that seemed impossible to reach. Puzzles revolve around manipulating perspective and lighting, and changing an area's illumination might transform the entire space. Place a light too far and you may have to start from the beginning. Every shadow you create changes what is and isn't real. The game offers no answers, only choices.
Somewhere beneath the surface of these memories, something is waiting. At first you'll sense it behind walls and around corners, or hear faint breathing when you stand still. Later you'll see it, a figure chasing you through decaying hallways and down endless slides. Encounters are born within your own consciousness, and these things sense your movements and hesitation. Fumble with a puzzle too slowly when it matters most and you may feel the weight of the world closing in.
Every space you enter is a fragment of memory. Basements, water parks, play places, all rendered in meticulous detail. Nothing behaves as it should. Slides lead to places they shouldn't, television screens transport you between memories, and doors loop back to the same room you started from. As you explore, the environment becomes less stable. You may see things that do not exist, hear sounds that are not really there, and feel sensations that make the hairs on your neck stand up.
Subliminal releases in March 2026. What begins as exploration becomes a violent confrontation with your own fading sense of self.
