Resident Evil Requiem is a survival horror game that sends players back to Raccoon City, the midwestern American city that served as headquarters for the former global pharmaceutical company Umbrella. In 1998 a zombie outbreak overwhelmed the city, prompting the government to approve a sterilization operation — a missile strike meant to bring the situation under control, swiftly covered up afterward. This is a city of disaster and despair, and something has drawn an FBI analyst back to its ruins.

Grace Ashcroft is an intelligence analyst for the FBI, someone whose intense focus and skill in deductive reasoning define her professional life. Her mother's death shook her deeply, turning her inward and driving her to bury herself in work. The isolation leads her to an abandoned hotel in Raccoon City, alone, investigating a mysterious death. The setup is personal and solitary: a single character against whatever horrors still linger in a place the world tried to erase.

Combat, investigations, puzzles and resource management form the core of the experience, drawing on the series' classic survival horror framework. Players can freely switch between first and third-person views, choosing how they want to face what's ahead. The development team has leaned on technological advancements alongside their accumulated experience to build something more immersive than the series has offered before, wrapping these mechanics around a story built on rich characters.

Resident Evil Requiem is set for release February 27th 2026. For a franchise that has reinvented itself repeatedly, this entry stakes its ground on a lone investigator walking into a dead city with nothing but her mind and whatever she can scavenge.
