SCP: Fragmented Minds is getting its second chapter on April 3, 2026, arriving as a free update on Steam. Developed by HST Game Studios and published through indie.io, Chapter 02 expands the first-person survival horror with fifteen new areas, new SCP entities, and a deeper narrative built around the collaborative SCP universe. Chapter 01 is currently available on Steam and the indie.io store.

The game drops players into Site-113, a massive SCP Foundation research and containment facility on Mars, after containment has catastrophically failed. The SCPs transferred there for safekeeping have broken free, the facility is deteriorating, and contact with Earth was lost following a Near-Extinction Event. Players wake from cryostasis into this wreckage, one of the last people anyone could reach, tasked not with rescue but with holding the line. The premise leans hard on the SCP Foundation's collaborative lore, and the game treats that universe as something worth inhabiting rather than just referencing. Audio logs, environmental storytelling, and a new guide character introduced in Chapter 02 help ground players in the fiction, whether they're deep into SCP lore or encountering it for the first time.

Survivors still populate the facility, and they come with their own agendas. Trust is a currency the game makes you spend carefully. Choices carry consequences that ripple outward, and in a setting defined by deception and shifting reality, the people around you can be as dangerous as the anomalies. Chapter 02 introduces the highly anticipated SCP-049 quest arc, pushing the narrative into new territory while layering in complexity through the decisions players make and the alliances they form or refuse.

Combat and traversal work together to keep the pressure shifting. Players use a blend of stealth and direct engagement, wielding weapons and even SCPs themselves to claw back advantage against increasingly unpredictable threats. The new Wrist Device is the biggest mechanical addition in Chapter 02, enabling rapid vertical movement that opens up how players navigate the crumbling Martian environments and deal with hostile entities. Reality Anchors add another dimension entirely, stabilizing the fabric of existence in ways that can alter both gameplay and the player's abilities for better or worse. A reworked equipment and skill system lets players customize their character through upgrades and crafting, while a dynamic infection system layers in additional tension that demands constant adaptation.

The facility itself is as much an obstacle as the things living inside it. Site-113 stretches across distinct zones with varying levels of danger and resources, and players hack, weld, and parkour their way through a complex that is actively falling apart around them. Chapter 02's fifteen new areas include the facility's North Wing, which dynamically changes in response to player progress and decisions, and The Forest, a standout location that serves as the backdrop for encounters with a highly requested SCP designed to challenge players' problem-solving alongside their survival instincts. Harsh Martian conditions press in from outside while reality-bending entities warp what's happening within, creating a setting where the walls between what's real and what isn't are never stable.

The mood sits in that space between dread and desperation. This is a facility where tens of thousands of personnel have been reduced to a few hundred, where communications barely function, and where the things being studied have become the dominant force. Graphic violence, disturbing events, and grim consequences are part of the fabric. The game doesn't let up, and Chapter 02 pushes players deeper into that pressure rather than offering relief from it. With the expanded narrative, new traversal tools, and a facility that reshapes itself around the choices you make, SCP: Fragmented Minds is building out a survival horror that treats its source material with the weight it deserves.
