Styx: Blades of Greed is a stealth game starring a cunning goblin with a caustic sense of humor who has spent two previous entries perfecting the art of not being seen. This time Styx answers to no one. Aboard his zeppelin, the famous green-skinned thief leads his own crew in pursuit of Quartz, the most precious and dangerous resource in a world teetering on the brink of war between elves, humans and orcs. The game refines the proven formula of its predecessors by placing freedom and creativity at the center of everything.
Three vast open environments serve as Styx's hunting grounds: the Wall, which marks the boundary of the human world; Turquoise Dawn, a lush orc village; and the Ruins of Akenash, what remains of the elven capital. Each is built vertically, encouraging players to soar through the skies with a glider, reach otherwise inaccessible spots with a grapple and scale massive walls with claws. New tools unlock previously unreachable areas in a Metroidvania-style progression, meaning earlier environments reveal fresh paths as Styx's arsenal grows.
Every situation functions as a stealth puzzle with multiple solutions. Preparation matters: players craft weapons and potions before executing each scheme, choosing from a wide range of abilities. Amber skills return Cloning and Invisibility to the toolkit, while Quartz grants new powers like Mind Control and Time Shift. Despite his small size, Styx relies on agility and sharp wit to escape the trickiest situations, though reaching for the dagger first is always an option.
Throughout the journey players encounter familiar faces alongside colorful new characters while outwitting traps set by the Inquisition. The story threads into the larger fiction of the series, depicting the beginning of the Great War and the creation of the Black Hand, the mercenary group central to the events of Of Orcs and Men. Styx: Blades of Greed is set to release in February 2026, giving the goblin's longtime fans and newcomers alike a reason to start sharpening their daggers.
