UNBEATABLE is an anime-infused rhythm adventure where you destroy on stage in both senses of the word. The rhythm gameplay strips down to two buttons, one for up and one for down. Simple to understand, the complicated part is doing it.
Half the game moves at your own pace as you walk around and talk to people. The other half demands you keep up with the music. You play as Beat, a pink-haired girl with a lot of things to worry about. The cops are everywhere and they are mad at you for what feels like no good reason though it doesn't help your case that you keep making friends with people the cops aren't happy with. You can help people out or don't, play huge concerts, punch cops and then run away from the cops you punched. There are also monsters or something.
All of this culminates in massive set pieces where everything is at stake. The music got you here and it will get you through it. The full arcade mode stands as an entire game by itself with its own progression system and online component. Modifiers, a growing library of songs and a challenge board offer tasks ranging from beating a song on easy mode to presumably something far more demanding. A double album worth of original songs comes with acoustic versions and remixes, all unlockable through the narrative or by playing arcade mode exclusively.
The title is either all caps or no caps. The developers ask that you be kind to them on this point.
