UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection bundles two single player adventures from developer Naughty Dog into one package. The first, UNCHARTED 4: A Thief's End, follows Nathan Drake, a retired fortune hunter pulled back into the world of thieves when his presumed dead brother Sam resurfaces seeking help to save his own life. The second, UNCHARTED: The Lost Legacy, puts players in control of Chloe Frazer, a resourceful thief who must partner with renowned mercenary Nadine Ross to recover an ancient artifact before it falls into the hands of a ruthless warmonger. Both stories carry the cinematic storytelling and blockbuster action the series is known for, filled with laughs, drama and high octane combat.
Drake's journey sends him and Sam after Captain Henry Avery's long lost treasure, hunting for Libertalia, a pirate utopia deep in the forests of Madagascar. That search stretches around the globe through jungle isles, far flung cities and snowcapped peaks. Chloe's story takes a different route entirely, venturing to India's Western Ghats along the southwestern coast of the Indian peninsula to locate the Golden Tusk of Ganesh. Both adventures feature the largest and most detailed environments in the franchise, blending urban streets, thick jungles, ancient ruins and exotic islands into settings that reward exploration. Fluid combat and traversal run through both campaigns, with Drake's grapple hook creating dynamic action set pieces while Chloe's journey builds on the series' systems with updated refinements to cinematic combat, exploration and complex puzzles.
The tone shifts between the two stories in ways that give each its own weight. A Thief's End is a more personal story for Drake, one that tests his physical limits and his resolve as he confronts what he's willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves. The Lost Legacy asks Chloe to confront her past and decide what she's willing to give up to forge her own legacy. Both carry that signature blend of wit, cunning and over the top spectacle, but the stakes feel different when the characters driving them are chasing something beyond treasure.
Naughty Dog built these as globe trotting adventures soaked in wonder, from rain soaked streets to snow capped mountains. A Thief's End won over 150 Game of the Year awards, and The Lost Legacy expanded the franchise with new leads at the center. What holds both together is the sense that every cliff face scaled and every firefight survived is in service of something the characters need to reckon with long after the treasure is found.
