Underkeep is a dungeon crawler built as a tribute to the role playing classics of the 90s, combining turn based combat with grid based movement in hand built dungeons. Players gather a party of four adventurers and descend into corridors where slow tension gives way to tactical encounters and every room hides something with intent behind it.

Party composition sits at the core of survival. Each adventurer carries strengths and flaws that shape how the group functions together, and synergy between them deepens the available strategy while a poor combination can seal the party's fate. Combat is turn based and rewards those who plan ahead, control space and manage stamina and mana carefully. The bold are rewarded. The careless are punished.

The dungeons themselves are handcrafted rather than procedurally generated. Strange rituals, lingering spirits, abandoned camps and cryptic symbols fill the spaces between fights. Hidden alcoves sit behind fake walls, optional bosses lurk off the beaten path and puzzles are woven into the world rather than sitting apart from it. A built in automap with custom markers lets players track locked doors and mysteries they intend to revisit. The game pairs this old school design philosophy with modern controls and clear visual feedback, aiming to preserve the tension of classic crawlers while removing the frustrations that once came with them.

This demo offers the starting area, one dungeon and a selection of hero classes to give a clear sense of how Underkeep plays and feels. The full game lies deeper still.
